Season 2 - Division 2 (Prem, 1 & 2) - late league
Introduction:
For the first 3 seasons we were in the late league, after this time both the early and late leagues were amalgamated into one. This page was created midway through season 4, so apologies it is lacking detail. I have added what I think the results were and added any recollections of the matches.
Season Summary:
sBefore the season started, we were full of hope, optimism and we thought we had a chance of being promoted from the bottom league. We had a good start to the season, drawing 3 - 3 with Leigh Boys, a walk over against the mighty 'Zodiac Signs' and then our record victory against Rentford Rejects 12 - 1. By this time we were flying high in 2nd and looking forward, believing we could get promoted. This probably contributed to the next three games, as they were a disaster. In these games we conceded 36 goals and scored only 7. After this we managed to drop from 2nd to 6th. At this point we were in despair; I was considering pulling the team, as I couldn't cope with that sort of beating each week. To my surprise the following week, we played M&P Builders and won our 3rd game of the season, overtaking them and finishing 5th.
The Mid Season Results put the league into perspective and we realised it wasn't going to be as easy, as we first anticipated to get out the division. We were full of hope for Season 3
