Season 39 - Mini Season
Start of season thoughts:
This season is a mini season between the end of our previous season and the start of the new one (as we are waiting for the divisions above to catch up). This has no standing on promotions and relegations, although trophies are up for grabs. The teams in this league are assigned based on the positions they finished in their relative divisions (div 5-7 are playing mini seasons). As we finished top last season we have on our league Div 5 champions (Bright Star Pumas), Div 7 champions (Eastwood Boys) and Div 5 2nd place (Mighty Ducks).
This season will be about discovery, if we can beat the two teams who went up from Div 5, it will give us a good barometer on our chances. I think all of the teams in this league will be close and all could have a chance of winning the mini season. My aim is for us to win the division and pick up another piece of silverware.

How the match went: This was a tight match against another form team, both sides had chances to win and made the keeper make some saves. Due to prior matches out of our control, we had to win this to claim another trophy, but the draw meant we finished 2nd.
End of season thoughts:
At the start of this mini season, I said it was a season of discovery about playing the promoted teams from the division above. The Mighty Ducks failed to show up (which could have been to do with their 7 - 1 thumping the week before), which I'm confident we could have won. The Bright Star Pumas we matched kick for kick and could easily have won with the number of chances.
Overall this season has been a bit irrelevant as 2 of the matches were walkovers, but anyway, I am pleased that we matched the division 5 champions and I am looking forward to a good next season.
